Ribbon Cutting Ceremony...Mission Accomplished
On Friday, August 23, 2013, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held onsite for the La Mesa/Nisqualli Interchange bridge. All five High Desert Mayors and City Managers attended this long awaited, extraordinary event, and were among the first to drive over the bridge.
The interchange bridge over Interstate 15, which broke ground in January 2012, has been in the planning and design stages since the early 1990s. One advantage of the bridge, which connects Nisqualli Road to the east and La Mesa Road to the west, will be to ease traffic flow on Bear Valley Road. Having the connection across, and additional access on and off the freeway, will make a positive difference in the lives of all High Desert residents.
